The ongoing armed conflict in the territory of Ukraine has significantly increased the relevance of Ukrainian legislation regulating the export of cultural property out of the country, particularly in view of the entry into force of the Regulation (EU) 2019/880 of the European Parliament and of the Council of 17 April 2019 on the introduction and the import of cultural goods.
The war has posed numerous new threats to cultural heritage and has increased the severance of the well-recognised issue of illegal export of cultural property.
The publication is the first Polish-language concise compendium of Ukrainian legislation regulating the international movement of cultural property. It is an essential contribution to spreading awareness of the Ukrainian heritage protection law and a practical tool to support the activities of competent services and institutions responsible for ensuring the safety of culture in these extraordinary times.
